I handle FAQ deflection and after-sales follow-up for small DTC brands based in Williamsburg and Bushwick shipping product nationwide. The setup answers the routine stuff, order status, sizing, returns, and escalates only what actually needs a human, so a two-person support team can keep pace with order volume. I lean on Shopify apps or Intercom with an OpenAI layer rather than building everything from scratch. I am upfront about scope and will tell a founder when a requested feature is not worth the spend yet.
